Dear Live365 Broadcaster,

During our regular maintenance on Saturday, October 4, 9:00-11:00 PM Pacific (October 5, 4:00-6:00, GMT/UTC), our streaming service will be temporarily unavailable due to the release of a new version of our proprietary streaming server Nanocaster.

The restart of Nanocaster will take 15-30 minutes. The upgrades include the support of the album cover art provided by Amazon on all of our player apps, such as Web-based player, Radio365 for Windows, Mac and smartphones, and third-party devices like TiVo and Sony. After the outage, LIVE broadcasters may need to restart their broadcasts; BASIC and RELAY stations will restart automatically. ALL broadcasters are recommended to check their streams to make sure everything is OK.

[Completed] System Maintenance Aug. 2, 9-11 PM Pacific Time

Maintenance for Aug 2, 2008 has been completed.  Please restart your broadcast or sync tracks if your broadcast is experiencing any issues.  Thanks.

Dear Live365 Broadcaster,

During our regular maintenance on August 2, 9:00-11:00 PM Pacific (August 3, 5:00-7:00 AM GMT/UTC), portions of our Web site and service will be temporarily unavailable due the release and push of a new version of our Nanocaster streaming server.

We need to restart Live365's proprietary streaming server Nanocaster, in order to release an updated version of it. The upgraded Nanocaster has new features and fixes including support for an upcoming roll-out of a new Flash-powered audio engine for our player window (giving Firefox and Safari users a much better streaming experience).

After the outage, LIVE broadcasters may need to restart their broadcasts; BASIC and RELAY stations will restart automatically. ALL broadcasters are recommended to check their streams to make sure everything is OK.

PRO Broadcaster Subscription Share Rewards Miscalculated

PRO Broadcasters,

Your VIP Subscription Share rewards were miscalculated as one time (1x) - the regular share that Personal Broadcasters get, instead of the  three times (3x) for Professional Broadcasters (including X5000), due to a database error. We are working on correcting this  miscalculation and will update your rewards dollars shortly.

Your VIP One-Time Bounties are not affected by this database error. Please keep an eye on this thread or visit your rewards page for updates. Thanks for your patience.

Live365 Forum DB restore complete

[update]  Live365 Forum had to be restored to the Feb28 backups.  This process has

been completed.  Unfortunately posts made between 2/28 and today has been lost.

be accessible.  Posts and messages between tuesday this week and today unfortunately
will be lost.

I'm not quite sure how long the restore will take yet since a lot of data will need to be

Maintenance: Friday Night, 11:30 PM PST

Dear Live365 Broadcaster,

We are migrating part of our streaming and Web site traffic to a new Internet service provider, in order to continuously serve your station with reliable high-speed connectivity.

No outages are expected during the migration process, although it is possible that some of the connections might be dropped and some of the streams might require a restart, when our Internet traffic feed to the old ISP is disabled Friday, November 30, 11:30 PM PST (Saturday, December 1, 7:30 AM, GMT).

After the old ISP is disabled, BASIC and RELAY stations will NOT be affected; some LIVE broadcasters may need to restart their broadcasts. ALL broadcasters are recommended to check their streams to make sure everything is OK.

LIVE Broadcasters: To determine whether you should restart your broadcasts, you can download PingPlotter (Freeware available) and trace your Web traffic to our site. After the installation, type in "www.live365.com" and trace results will be displayed. If the result entry shows "Cogent," you will need to restart your broadcasts.

Nanocaster Patch Available, Wed., Nov. 21, 10am PST (Nov. 21, 6 pm GMT)

Some broadcasts are having off-and-on technical issues with the latest version of Nanocaster, released Nov. 10th. These issues are occasional audio glitches between ads and music, iTunes dropping listeners on some track-to-advertisement or track-to-track transitions, and/or some tracks having a tiny bit of the song chopped off during the transition to the next track.

We released a new version today that should fix these issues. However, since only a few broadcasters are having trouble, it is not a required/automatic update.

If you are experiencing any of these difficulties, please stop and restart your station when it is convienent for you and your listeners. On restart, the newest Nanocaster will be picked up, fixing these issues.

System Maintenance Sat., Nov. 10, 9pm PST (Nov. 11, 5am GMT) [Completed]

[NC version upgrade completed on all servers]

Live365 is upgrading all stations to a new version of Nanocaster, v2.7.0.36, starting today and culminating in a forced restart at 9pm on Saturday, 10 Nov 2007 (5am GMT, Sunday, Nov. 11) of any  stations still running on the previous version. There will be a brief outage for each station and its listeners during the restart. To minimize the  possible disruption for LIVE mode broadcasters, we suggest that you restart your station at your earliest convenience, particularly if you are running 3rd party broadcasting software that needs to have an IP address manually entered (e.g. Shoutcast), as it is possible that your IP:port  assignment will change during the restart. If you are running Studio365-Live, any address reassignment will be handled for you automatically.

When the upgrade is complete, all listeners will be able to connect to Live365 streams on port 80. This is the standard port assigned for web traffic and almost anywhere you can access a web page, you will now be able to access our audio streams without interference from high-port blocking firewalls or misconfigured security software. Over time, we expect that most stations will  experience an increase in listenership as fewer users run into technical  problems connecting to our streams.

Note to LIVE broadcasters: even though the outbound listening connections will now be on port 80, the inbound master audio feeds will continue to reside on high ports (i.e. 20,000+) on our streaming servers, just as before. If you  are broadcasting LIVE successfully today, you will not want to make any changes to your firewall configurations; if you are new to LIVE broadcasting, you will want to be sure your network settings allow outbound connections to Live365 on high ports.

Maintenance: Sunday Night & Monday Morning

Dear Live365 Broadcaster,

Live365's ISP and bandwidth provider will be performing network maintenance from Sunday, August 12, 11 PM to Monday, August 13, 7 AM, Pacific (6 AM to 2 PM, GMT). The purpose of this maintenance is to replace damaged fiber enclosures on a long-haul span.

This maintenance should cause no downtime for our service, although we may experience latency and suboptimal routing. Our bandwidth provider will be closely monitoring our connection to ensure no interruptions to our service. Due to the nature of the work, however, in the event of a failure or problem, they will restore our service immediately and reschedule the maintenance for another time.

This work should have minimal effect on our service, as our bandwidth provider has had this type of maintenance in the past.
