Maintenance: Thursday Night, 7-8 PM PDT

Dear Live365 Broadcaster,

We will be performing maintenance this Thursday (July 19th) from 7-8 PM, Pacific Daylight Time (July 20, 3-4 AM GMT). The purpose of this maintenance is to push a new version of our proprietary Audio Insertion Server.

During the maintenance, our website will still be up running, although some services may be interrupted briefly at times. After the outage, LIVE broadcasters may need to restart their broadcasts; BASIC and RELAY stations will restart automatically. ALL broadcasters are recommended to check their streams to make sure everything is OK.

Thanks for your continued support,
The Live365 Team

Emergency Reboot of Broadcast Servers Taking Place

Due to some wonkiness with many of our broadcast servers, we will be shortly rebooting the following:

ss30
ss32
ss34
ss35
ss9410
ss9411
ss9412
ss9413
ss9414
ss9415

This will allow us to properly recrunch the stats for Saturday. No Pro servers will be affected.

Broadcast Server or Scheduler Problems?

Restart your broadcast to get re-assigned to a different server. We are going to do a hard reboot on a couple of servers that are misbehaving.

Day of Silence June 26, 2007

Friends,

Live365, along with the SaveNetRadio coalition and Internet radio stations throughout the U.S. and world, will be participating in Tuesday, June 26th's Day of Silence.

On June 26th, all 10,000 Live365 stations launched from our website, and Internet radio broadcasts nationwide, will go silent and be redirected to a Day of Silence stream that offers an explanation, broadcaster testimonials and a call to action.

The Day of Silence will bring much needed attention to the danger Internet radio is encountering. We recommend contacting your local media letting them know of the planned Day of Silence and its meaning. Visit SaveNetRadio's media search tool to find your local media.

We understand the possible disruptions this may cause, but feel drastic measures are necessary. By joining together with all other Internet radio stations Live365 will show them what they can look forward to if things don't change quickly ... Silence.

We don't usually use our System Update Blog for other news, but this is such a cool topic that we thought it qualified... and we need our broadcasters to help!

We're excited to open up an Alpha version of Radio365-Mobile to a limited number of broadcasters to help us shake out the bugs before public release.

Scheduled Maintenance Completed.

Maintenance has been completed successfully. If you see any weirdness with uploaded tracks not appearing as expected, go to http://easycast-sf.live365.com/broadcast/advancedtools.html and select "Sync Tracks".

We decided to not automatically restart all stations. When and if you restart your stream, your station will automatically pick up the newly updated version of Nanocaster, Live365’s proprietary streaming server. The upgraded Nanocaster will have new features including improved iTunes title streaming and fewer VIP lockouts.

Scheduled maintenance on June 2, 2007

During our regular maintenance on June 2, 9:00-11:00 PM Pacific (June 3, 5:00-7:00 AM GMT/UTC), portions of our Web site and service will be temporarily unavailable due to database hardware upgrades.

After the outage, LIVE broadcasters may need to restart their broadcasts; BASIC and RELAY stations will restart automatically. ALL broadcasters are recommended to check their streams to make sure everything is OK.

If you restart your stream, your station will automatically pick up the newly updated version of Nanocaster, Live365’s proprietary streaming server, although Live365 will not force restart your streams on our end in order to release the new Nanocaster. We will keep you informed of Nanocaster’s network-wide restart date, when we are ready to release the final version to all streams within next few weeks.

The upgraded Nanocaster will have new features including improved iTunes title streaming and fewer VIP lockouts.

ISP Maintenance April 5th, PDT

Live365's ISP and bandwidth provider will be performing network maintenance from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on April 5th, Pacific Daylight Saving Time (April 6th, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon GMT/UTC). The purpose of this maintenance is to install new equipment and uplinks.

During this maintenance window, our website will experience one or more brief interruptions in service. The interruptions are expected to last less than 15 minutes in total. Due to the complexity of the work, however, the downtime may be longer.

Our bandwidth provider had this type of maintenance multiple times in the past. We expect minimal impacts on most broadcasts.
